Class 2 Icosahedral Domes

These are in even numbered frequencies only, 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.

Hemisphere dividing lines are special adaptations to provide for a horizontal ground level perimeter.

Our Garden Dome 1 is the 2 frequency Class 2 icosa dome. In was the first dome we built using our innovative low cost connector system.


Next is the 4 frequency Class 2 dome. Class 2 domes have less quantity and less variety of strut lengths than the same frequency Class 1 dome. The result is an efficient simplicity and economy of materials.

The 8 frequency Class 2 dome. The orientation is changed with the dome turned 90 degrees, now giving us a hexagon at the apex.This gives us a partial great circle hemisphere dividing point, shown in red. Applies to the 2, 4 and 6 frequency domes as well.


Disney's Epcot dome is a Class 2 icosa dome.
