With standard 92-5/8" boards used for struts, the dome height is approximately 7 ft, 2-1/2" and has a floor area of 135 square feet. Span across base points is almost 14'-6" and base perimeter is 43 ft.![]()
A special hexagon area is added to close in the bottom. A pyramidal Cupola could be added to this dome for a vertical extension with 3 faced pyramid on top in place of the horizontal triangle face.

The Edge Zenith Icosa-Dome has 10 hubs and 20 struts. Two types are presented.
Type 1
Height is almost the radius of the dome. All base hubs rest flat on the ground.
With standard 92-5/8" boards used for struts, the dome height is approximately 6 ft, 3" and has a floor area of 126 square feet. Widest span across base points is 14'-8" and base perimeter measures 42 feet.![]()

Type 2
2 base hubs point upward. The ground level struts are connected together as shown with metal connector plates (Simpson Strong Tie brand) instead of the round hubs. 4 round hubs could also be used (best). Adds significant height, relative to the dome diameter.![]()

'X1' struts can be added to these domes, to divide the large triangles of these domes as an aid in covering and adding structural strength.
