I have over 23 years of creating visual art that graphically describes technical subject matter. With modern computer technology the methods of creation and results obtained can be tailored to maximum efficiency.Special SkillsWith internet and email ability we are able to work together - geographical location is not an issue.
My main experience is in mechanical, industrial, manufacturing illustrations. Typically these fields require detailed drawings for fabrication, assembly, maintenance, repair, parts identification, training and customer support.
I have worked many years in aerospace and aviation, and more recently with the semiconductor industry. Subject matter has covered a wide range of topics- hydraulics, pneumatics, piping, wiring, schematics, assembly sequences (parts breakdown).
The tools I have used are the industry standards: Auto-trol, AutoCAD, Photoshop, and others.
From my resume':
Illustrated Parts Breakdown - exploded/assembly drawings
Autotrol Series 5000 Technical Illustrator, a graphic design software
using Unix , Sun Solaris
Engineering Drawings, blueprint reading, geometric dimension and tolerance
Isometric Drawings
AutoCad R14, 3D solids
PC skills, database, spreadsheet, word processor
Very detail oriented for graphic descriptions of maintenance and assembly
operational procedures
in a variety of technical and mechanical fields, including pilot training,
industrial, aerospace, automotive
Work Experience
1979 to 1998
The majority of my work has been translating complex engineering drawings
into pictorial illustrations.
I have worked with Rockwell International (C-130), Power Systems (chemical
dispensers), Lockheed Martin
(Air Force maintenance manuals) and several smaller businesses, contract
services firms and as independent freelance artist.
Age: 43
single, no children
Hobbies: gardening, photography, reading, woodwork, travel.
Interests: history, religion, culture, art, music, health
I also design and build geodeic domes and spheres, working with wood,
metals and plastic, and own a U.S. Patent related to building construction
and domes.
I believe it is worth the extra expense for you to hire a freelance artist with experience, who will do the work fast with high quality, than using a less experienced person who will need extra time and training to a job that will need rework or totally redone. Please contact me to discuss your specific needs.
