Garden Dome 2 Gallery
This dome is located in the Big Thicket National
Preserve near Beaumont, in southeast Texas.

The brick walkway leads you from the deck to the
dome's entrance.

The custom door of 3 dome triangles is
large enough for a wheel barrel or handicap access. Made of 2 x 2
and 1 x 2 wood, the door follows the same structural components and geodesic
lines of the main dome frame. Only three struts are removed for the door.

Inside the dome you will find a safe, warm home for
some happy ornamental plants. During freezing temperatures (if any!) a
small electric heater will be used to supply extra warmth.

This dome is covered with woven Super Poly and clearer
non-woven greenhouse plastic to cover the 2 window openings.

In this final image, the clearer plastic film used
on the windows can be seen and part of the door frame on the upper left.
