Octa-Tetra Truss frame with Vertical Base Option.

Base Option as shown is 30 inches, providing extra walkable floor area and making apex height nearly 10 ft.

This Truss Frame can be made with minimal materials.
For instance, 1 Pyramid, with dividing strut ("X1", shown green) and Vertical Base Option, with 8 ft edge lengths, can use 4 x 8 sheets for covering. Only 5 sheets are required and will also cover a 2 ft tall Vertical Base. Here are the 4 x 8 panels:

There is no left over unused panel material for this size and design. Even the left over rectangles made from cutting the right triangles are used. Use plywood or OSB and roof finishing materials for a garden shed, storage, playroom for the kids, etc. Use polycarbonate or corrugated HDPE (Coroplast brand type) greenhouse glazing for a well insulated growing environment. Use our Super Poly for a low cost high performance covering. Attach an inner and outer layer of Super Poly to make an insulating space between the layers.

Here the larger 10 ft edge pyramid cover pattern is shown. Only 30 ft of Super Poly is required to cover the Octa Pyramid with a 30 inch Vertical Base; using the 12 ft wide Super Poly (12 x 30 ft = 360 sq. ft.)

Make a door:  hinge a section of the Vertical Base, and hinge the triangle panel at the X1 strut, or removeable triangle or flap section if using the Super Poly.

Connector Kit for 1 Pyramid shown above: 9 Connector Hubs with hardware including
Simspon 4-way metal connectors (4), and deck screws for Vertical Base intermediate struts. The Vertical Base can be any practical height, from bout 1 to 8 ft. Make your pyramid from pine, cedar, redwood, etc. The 2x4 dome is illustrated but it can be made with 1x2, 2x2, 2x4, or 2x6 size standard lumber.
