Star Dome 2 EZ and Sacred Geometry

Designed from the GD1-EZ, with 2 upright 5-point stars added in the upper 2 pentagons

We did a new GD1-EZ kit recently and I realized the close similarity to the Star Dome 2 and remembered how I love the star designs [after all the Golden Rectangle and “sacred geometry” is inherent in the pentagon-pentagram star] and then added 2 stars. That looks good and makes a nice dome.

First the 12 ft. 2×4 Garden Dome EZ is shown, with a 35 inch VBO or Vertical Base Option.
Disgonal brace boards in VBO sections stabilize lower area for adding the upper.
From the Edome model with colors for identifying various parts and a cover idea.
All triangles are same size – making identical pentagons.

Next, with 2 stars added in oposite pentagons, makes the “Star Dome 2 E.Z.”

My next page describes the pentagon, icosahedron, dodecahedron:

Golden Rectangle

A golden rectangle has sides in the golden ratio. If a square is removed from one side, the remaining rectangle is another golden rectangle. This process can continue indefinitely and establishes a golden spiral.

Do you see the mystery, curious uncanniness, sacredness,”magic” unexplainable functional productive reality of the dodecahedron geometry? Maybe that’s why Dali put it in his “Sacrament of the Last Supper”

Contrary to the anecdotal and obscure conceptions in paintings on this same subject, I wanted to materialize the maximum of luminous and Pythagorian instantaneousness, based on the celestial communion of the number 12: 12 hours of the day—12 months of the year—the 12 pentagons of the dodecahedron—12 signs of the Zodiac around the sun—the 12 apostles around Christ.
The physical world is mystical in its very nature, and is filled in its particularity with sacramental potentiality.

I couldn’t have said it better. Nature- Creation- points us to the Creator.

We made a Dodecasphere kit for a client last year. It was for a 20 ft.,, 2 x 6 frame
Results from the 2×4 Edome model:

I hope he got it built- have not heard from them since . It’s an ambitious project; needs plenty of support for lower areas to support the top. Could be dangerous- getting hurt by sacred geometry would not be good.

This brings me to the flower of life

“Sacred geometry can be described as a belief system attributing a religious or cultural value to many of the fundamental forms of space and time. According to this belief system, the basic patterns of existence are perceived as sacred, since contemplating one is contemplating the origin of all things. By studying the nature of these forms and their relationship to each other, one may seek to gain insight into the scientific, philosophical, psychological, aesthetic and mystical laws of the universe. The Flower of Life is considered to be a symbol of sacred geometry, said to contain ancient, religious value depicting the fundamental forms of space and time. One form also known as a daisy wheel is also used at a smaller scale as a proportioning device in building construction.” – WIKI

Something about the 31 great circles of the Icosa-dodecahedron

What have we learned about the icosadodecahedron?
Mainly, that it is pentagonally based.
The triangular faces fill in the gaps between the pentagonal faces.
All of the radii form Golden Triangles with any 2 adjacent vertices.
The spacing of the pentagonal and decagonal internal planes are based upon the
division of the space into Mean and Extreme Ratio. –see The Icosa–Docedahedron
